Ahead of the 2024 Telecel Music Awards, Kojo Preko Dankwa, an entertainment pundit and convener of the Foundation of Creative Arts Professionals (FOCAP) has shared his thoughts regarding the nomination list prepared by the committee.
On the committe’s efforts, he acknowledged that pleasing everyone was a challenge, but expressed confidence in their selections.

He highlighted the need for more support and recognition for gospel musicians, citing lack of enough events tailored to their genre.
When he compared the presence of gospel musicians in previous years, he pointed out a decline in their representation, especially in comparison to secular artists.
He urged gospel musicians to step up and seize all opportunities to display their talent, citing examples like Joe Mettle and Diana Hamilton as inspirations.
Commenting on the competitive landscape of the awards, the entertainment pundit acknowledged the tough competition for gospel artist Nacee, who faces five secular musicians in the Artist of the Year category.
However, he called for increased support for Nacee and other gospel artists to level the playing field.
