The 2024 National Tourism Awards, hosted by the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) under the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture, took place at the historic Osu Castle Gardens in Accra.
The event, themed “Celebrating Innovation and Recognising Excellence in Ghana’s Tourism Sector,” honoured key players in Ghana’s tourism and hospitality industry, recognizing their significant contributions to the sector’s growth and resilience.
Set against the serene backdrop of the Osu Gardens, the ceremony drew notable figures, including Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture, Andrew Egyapa Mercer, his Deputy Mark Okraku Mantey, and GTA Board Chair Seth Adjei Baah.
Florence Oboshie Sai Cofie chaired the event, while Togbe Dr. Crystal-Dzirackor, Group Chair of Crystal TV Group, served as the Guest of Honour. The evening celebrated achievements across 36 awards, which included 26 competitive categories, 8 honorary recognitions, and 2 special awards.
Top accolades were awarded to several distinguished establishments: Labadi Beach Hotel in Greater Accra was named 5-Star Hotel of the Year, while The Royal Senchi Hotel in the Eastern Region received the 4-Star Hotel award. Other winners included Golden Bean Hotel (3-Star), Sogakope Beach Resort in the Volta Region (2-Star), and GRNMA Hotel in the Central Region (1-Star).
The awards emphasized GTA’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence within Ghana’s tourism industry, promoting it as a vibrant, world-class destination.
The event underscored the collective dedication of individuals and organizations working to drive Ghana’s post-pandemic tourism recovery and its appeal on the global stage.
