A multitude of persons have passed through the Modern City Hotel in Tamale in support of Ghanaian chef Failatu. It’s currently day 8 of Faila Abdul-Razak’s Guinness World Record cook-a-thon attempt in Tamale, capital of the Northern Region.
Her attempt begun on the eve of the new year 2024. The Ghanaian chef, is currently in full drive to establish her own record after breaking the last one that was set.
Initially, the plan was to cook for 120 hours but she has upped it now, extending it to cooking for 10 days which is stipulated to be the 10th of January 2024 calculating from January 1, 2024 the day she set her ambitious plan in motion.
Currently, Failatu Abdul Razak has cooked for over 175 hours inching closer to day 10. Indeed the eyes and ears of the world are tilted to this part of the world, keenly following this record breaking effort. An interesting piece of information is that today is Failatu’s husband’s birthday and his favourite meal is fufu. As he receives good wishes from everywhere, and a hot meal from his wife’s cooking pot, many continue to pour out their support and love for this Tamale native. Failatu remains in the kitchen and keeping at her goal for the longest cooking marathon by an individual to set a new Guinness World Record.
