Aside having two broken legs, she had allegedly suffered from some mental illness because of the accident. However, unlike other victims, her family failed to show up to care for her.

According to some community members, she was conveyed in the hospital’s ambulance and left in a wheelchair in the bush at Ojobi where she claimed to be her hometown but was later found dead.

Eyewitnesses told UTV that they saw the ambulance drop her off on the outskirts of the town, but they did not approach her assuming that she may have been dropped off for her caretakers to take her home.

However, unconfirmed reports say days after the ambulance left, the woman was spotted unresponsive and eventually passed.

The Ghana Health Service said “upon receiving this disturbing news, it has initiated investigations into the matter to establish the authenticity or otherwise of the story in line with the existing practices in the public service to enable it to take appropriate actions”.

The GHS urged the public to be patient assuring that anyone found to be connected with this unfortunate incident will be severely dealt with in accordance with provisions of the Service’s Code of Conduct.
