The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the official academic calendar for the 2024/2025 school year, set to commence on Wednesday, 30th October 2024, for all Senior High Schools across the country.
As part of the transition, current first-year students in schools following the Transitional Calendar will conclude their 2023/2024 academic year on Monday, 28th October 2024. They will be promoted to Form Two and continue with the new academic year immediately.
The re-opening date of 30th October also applies to incoming first-year students in Single Track and Transitional Schools. Additionally, continuing students in Single Track Schools are expected to return to school on the same date.
This schedule aims to align the academic year with the September start date from 2025 onwards and to facilitate the organization of the 2025/2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) in May/June.
