The United States, through the US Agency for International Development (USAID), has donated two boats to the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to enhance healthcare delivery in the remote communities of the Western Region.
These boats, a 12-seater and an 8-seater, are equipped with specialized storage for medical supplies, ensuring improved access to healthcare services for approximately 7,500 people across 28 communities in the Jomoro District.
Designed and manufactured in Ghana, the boats are constructed from reinforced fiberglass, making them durable for navigating the region’s waterways.
The donation underscores the ongoing partnership between the United States and Ghana to address healthcare challenges in underserved areas.
This initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the healthcare infrastructure in remote regions, ensuring that people in even the most isolated communities can receive essential health services.
