Richard Ahiagbah, the Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has drawn attention to the recent economic growth recorded in the second quarter of 2024. In a post on X, he emphasized the significance of the 6.9% GDP growth, which surpassed expectations by 3.6 percentage points, according to data from the Ghana Statistical Service.
“Let’s celebrate this performance because it means the economy is coming back, and it’s good for Ghana. This, according to Bloomberg, is a 5-year high performance. Let’s cast politics aside and commend the government for this positive delivery,” Ahiagbah noted.
The growth, driven by improvements in both the oil and non-oil sectors, marks the fastest expansion in five years.
