Outraged by the expulsion of their Member of Parliament, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie, residents of Sefwi Wiawso took to the streets of the town on Monday in protest against Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin.
Dressed in red and black, the demonstrators marched through the town, chanting demands for an apology and accusing Speaker Bagbin of political bias and deliberately humiliating their MP.
The protesters issued a one-week ultimatum, demanding that Speaker Bagbin apologize to Dr. Afriyie and the people of Sefwi Wiawso, or they would escalate their actions.
