The Ghana Education Service has assured all heads and teachers of schools in the Greater Accra Region that school will be in session on Thursday 26 and Friday 27, 2023.
This follows a revised decision from the GA Traditional Council that all shops should be closed from Thursday to Saturday. The new directive states that all shops should be closed only on Saturday.
In a statement signed by the Acting Director of Education, Mr Stephen Abamfo stated that in light of the new directive from the Ga Traditional Council, the old directive is null and void.
“I write to bring to your notice the amendment to the earlier letter from His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, the Ga Mantse on the funeral and burial program of the Ga Manye, Naa Dedei Omaedru III. From the Funeral Planning Committee of the late Naa Dedei Omaedru III, the Ga Manye, the new date for the closure of schools, shops, and offices in and around Ga Mashie Traditional Area is Saturday 28th October 2023,” he said.
