Eight hundred and thirty (830) participants across the country will receive four months of training, with weekly online sessions interspersed with monthly physical sessions.
It falls under the second phase of the Digital Skills Training programme, “ DigSMART”, an initiative of the Ministry of Communication and Digitalization to build the digital skills of workers in the public sector to be more effective in the delivery of service.
The DigSMART Scale-Up is not merely a training program but a holistic journey toward authentic transformation which redefines the landscape of digital competence within the various civil and public service institutions.
The second phase which targets 830 participants, is a testament to remarkable success stories of 170 participants who gained digital skills and knowledge necessary for leadership and transformation in government during the first phase of the flagship programme.
The Director General of the National Information Technology Agency Mr. Richard Okyere-Fosu said government aspires to create an environment conducive to technological innovation that aligns with national goals.
The Head of Ghana’s Civil Service, Dr. Evans Aggrey-Darkoh urged participants to work hard at this change for transparency and efficiency to service delivery. Ghana claimed a spot among the top 10 nations in the UN’s E-Government Development Index.
This recognition reflects the strength in telecommunications infrastructure, online services, and most significantly, in human capital as tackling sustainable development goals four. DigSMART scale up is in collaboration between Ghana CARES and the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI) .
