The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has issued a public notice for passport applicants who made payments before April 1, 2024, but have not yet completed the biometric data capture process. These applicants are required to visit their chosen Passport Application Centers (PACs) and finalize their applications before October 18, 2024.
The Ministry has emphasized that passport applications submitted under the previous payment options of GH¢100.00 and GH¢150.00 will become invalid after this deadline if biometric details are not captured. Applicants are urged to act swiftly to ensure their applications remain valid.
This deadline follows the Ministry’s adjustment of passport fees, which took effect on April 1, 2024. The new fees are GH¢500 for a 32-page standard passport and GH¢644 for a 48-page standard passport. Expedited processing now costs GH¢800.
The Ministry urges all affected individuals to complete their biometric registration to avoid having to reapply and pay the new processing fees. This measure aims to streamline the passport issuance process and address any existing backlogs.
