Parliament has restructured its committee leadership, appointing Isaac Adongo as the new Chairperson of the Finance Committee.
This role carries significant responsibility in overseeing the nation’s fiscal policies and economic management. Mr. Adongo, known for his firm stance on financial matters, is expected to bring rigorous scrutiny to gov’t economic decisions.
As part of the changes, Abena Osei-Asare has been appointed Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC), taking over from James Avedzi, the former Ketu North MP. The PAC plays a crucial role in examining gov’t expenditure and ensuring accountability in public finances.
These leadership adjustments, along with other committee reassignments, are intended to strengthen parliamentary oversight and enhance governance, reinforcing Parliament’s role in promoting transparency and efficiency in public administration.
