The Office of Special Prosecutor (OSP) has published its half-yearly report, which covers the months of July 1, 2023, through December 31, 2023, with an overview of the Office’s investigations and prosecutions.

According to the report three (3) substantive criminal cases are being tried before the courts.
Among them is the case of Mr. Adjenim Boateng Adjei, the former CEO of the Public Procurement Authority, who is charged with influencing the procurement process to obtain an unfair advantage in the awarding of public contracts and abusing his position of power for personal benefit.

Additionally, the OSP has initiated a preliminary investigation into the contractual arrangements between Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Limited (SML) and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

Furthermore, inquiries have been opened into multiple alleged corruption cases. These include the appropriation, sale, and lease of state-owned lands since 1993, corruption offenses in respect of the Government of Ghana payroll and the termination of a Distribution, Loss Reduction, and Network Improvement Project contract between ECG and Beijing Xiao Cheng Technology.

With regards to the prevention of corruption, the OSP, in collaboration with the Ghana Anti-Corruption Coalition (GACC) and other Civil Society Organizations, has been actively engaging the youth through anti-corruption training programs in Senior High Schools. The primary objective of this initiative is to transform the deeply ingrained culture of corruption in the country and prepare students to assume the role of anti-corruption champions.

The OSP is an independent anti-corruption agency in Ghana established in 2018 to investigate and prosecute corruption-related offenses in the country.
