The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has taken a significant step towards promoting unity and reconciliation within its ranks by establishing regional reconciliation committees.
Over the past two years, it has organized various party activities, such as presidential and parliamentary primaries, as well as elections at polling stations, constituencies, regions and nationally.
A statement, signed and issued by the NPP’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, highlighted the committees’ responsibility to promote unity and reconciliation in each constituency within their respective regions.
The statement also emphasized that these committees are entrusted with resolving any issues that may have arisen from all party activities or events, including but not limited to polling station elections, constituency elections, regional elections, national elections, presidential elections, and parliamentary elections.
To ensure the effectiveness of these committees, the NPP has appointed capable individuals to chair them in various regions.
Edward Boateng chairs the committee in the Ashanti Region, William Ampem Darko in the Eastern Region, Mahama Dubik in the North East, Nana Gyenfi in Oti, Nii Ayikoi Otoo in Greater Accra, George Yaw Boakye in Ahafo, and Dr. Clifford Braimah in Savannah.
Also, Kwame Ampofo Twumasi chairs the committee in Bono East, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah in Central, Alhaji Abdul Rahaman in Upper West, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam in Northern, Kofi Dzamesi in Volta, Alhaji Farouk Hamza in Upper East, Paul Nkuah Agyepong in Western North, Abuasuakpanyili Numuah Kwaw in Western, and Prince Yeboah Marfo in Bono.
