The New Patriotic Party’s 2024 running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has worshipped with the congregation of Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana at their annual church conference in the Central Region. He had a sit down with the first inventor of made-in-Ghana cars, philanthropist and founder of the Church, Apostle Kwadwo Safo. Their discussion centred on the global conversation on practical training skills for young people as a means of enhancing social and economic development.
With the goal of emancipating the African continent through science and technology, the Kristo Asafo Mission of Ghana, a church founded and headed by Apostle Kwadwo Safo, has been at the forefront of Ghanaian innovations from household appliances, to industrial machines, electronics and essential equipment for security use among others. To this end, the church has a technological wing, the Kantanka Automobile Company – producing the first made-in-Ghana cars. Aside serving the spiritual needs of the people, Kristo Asafo engages in investment in agriculture, philanthropy works while training members in other professions and trade skills such as carpentry, welding, and mechanics. The annual church conference is a gathering to take stock, review activities, and unveil a new constitution for the church.
This is the first meeting between the NPP 2024 running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh and Apostle Kwadwo Safo, since the former was chosen as a running mate to Dr Bawumia. Dr. Prempeh, highlighted the unique role of the church to national development and the need to maintain interfaith dialogue to consolidate the country’s peace while partnering Kristo Asafo in the TVET sector to enhance the Ghanaian workforce and to fit into the country’s industrialization drive.
The 2024 conference was held at the church headquarters at Gomoa Mpota in the Central Region.
