The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has conducted primaries to select a candidate for the forthcoming by-election, prompted by the untimely passing of the constituency’s Member of Parliament, John Kumah, on March 7, 2024.
In a closely contested race, Lawyer Kwabena Boateng clinched victory with 393 votes, solidifying his position as the party’s nominee.
The competition was fierce, with several contenders vying for the coveted candidacy.
Helena Mensah secured 302 votes, followed closely by Mama Yaa Aboagye with 229 votes.
Dr. Evans Duah garnered 61 votes, while Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi and Portia Mensah received 35 and 6 votes, respectively.
Clinsma Karikari Mensah and Aaron Prince Duah each secured 2 votes, while Abena Pokua failed to secure any votes.
As the NPP prepares to contest the by-election, all eyes are on Lawyer Kwabena Boateng as he embarks on the campaign trail, aiming to secure victory and continue the legacy of the late John Kumah.
