The Minority in Parliament is demanding urgent disclosure from National Security regarding two aircraft suspected of transporting cocaine and cash into Ghana.
The flights, AirMed flight N823AM and Cavok Air’s Antonov An-12B, reportedly arrived at Kotoka International Airport from Gran Canaria, Spain, before departing on 25th March 2025.
According to intelligence cited by the Minority, AirMed flight N823AM, an air ambulance, did not carry any patients but allegedly transported suspicious cargo believed to contain cocaine and US dollars.
“There is no evidence of any medical referral or patient on board. Rather, our intelligence suggests the aircraft was used to smuggle illicit cargo,” the Minority claimed.
The group also raised concerns about Cavok Air’s Antonov An-12B, which landed in Ghana on 12th March and remained for thirteen days before departing on the same day as the AirMed flight. Describing the timing as “intriguing,” the Minority called for full disclosure of the cargo both aircraft transported.
“In our collective fight against drug trafficking and money laundering, transparency is critical. We urge National Security to reveal the details of the cargo brought into and taken out of the country by these flights,” the Minority stated.
