Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has endorsed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, calling him the “ideal leader” for Ghana during what he describes as a pivotal moment in the nation’s history.
In an interview on Asempa FM’s *Ekosii Sen*, Kufuor highlighted Bawumia’s capabilities, expressing confidence in his leadership potential. He cited Bawumia’s extensive experience and vision as critical assets for addressing Ghana’s current challenges.
Reflecting on his past endorsement of Bawumia as a “man of destiny,” Kufuor acknowledged facing criticism and opposition for his remarks but affirmed his steadfast belief in Bawumia’s suitability for the presidency.
Kufuor emphasized Bawumia’s economic expertise and innovative approach to governance, attributing to him a keen understanding of Ghana’s economic landscape and a forward-thinking policy agenda.
“I was attacked for calling Bawumia ‘a Man of Destiny,’ but I know why I said that. I think he’s the best man Ghana needs at this moment in our history. Ghanaians should give Bawumia a chance,” he stated.
