The Minister for the Interior, Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak, has commended the Ghana Police Service for its professionalism and commitment to maintaining law and order during the 2024 general elections.
During a visit to the Police Headquarters in Accra, the Minister acknowledged the critical role of the Service in safeguarding lives, property, and national security. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting the police in fulfilling their mandate.
As part of the government’s security reforms, Mr. Mohammed-Mubarak assured that a comprehensive review of the national security architecture would be undertaken to enhance professionalism and shield the Service from political interference.
He further announced plans to integrate advanced technology into police operations and expand the Police Hospital to improve law enforcement capabilities and service delivery.
Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, assured the Minister of the Service’s unwavering dedication to peace and security across the country.
The visit provided an opportunity for discussions on strengthening police operations and enhancing public safety.
