The convention people’s party has expressed support for the scaled-down celebration of the 68th independence day celebration.
This follows the decision not to rotate the celebration.
The previous NPP government has been rotating the celebration among the regions.
The NDC government however says this approach has been costly.
To further cut down cost, the event is being held at the Jubilee house.
In press briefing ahead of the event minister of state in charge of government communication Felix Ofosu Kwakye explained that just a little above 500 persons are expected to participate in the exercise.
In a statement to commemorate day the CPP expressed support for the decision which they believe will lead to a reduction in the cost.
The statement further called on Ghanaians to ‘ to support the President in his call to reflect, review, and reset; as building the economy we want together, will benefit all, irrespective of Party colour, creed, or ideology.’
