Vincent Bossu, the second accused in the J.B Danquah-Adu murder trial has been acquitted and discharged by an Accra High Court. This was after the presiding Judge, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo ruled that the Prosecution failed to make any case against him.

Mr. Bossu aka Junior Agogo, had insisted on his innocence from the beginning of the trial nearly 8 years ago. He was facing charges of conspiracy to commit murder, in the trial involving the co-accused, Daniel Asiedu.

Justice Lydia Osei Marfo’s ruling follows a plea by Yaw Dankwah, the lawyer representing the two accused persons that, ASP Augustus Nkrumah, the investigator in the case who is also the 8th Prosecution witness failed to demonstrate to the court that Vincent Bossu allegedly conspired with the main accused to commit robbery.

Yaw Dankwah, the lawyer representing the two accused persons, while praying the court to acquit and discharge his client noted that, notwithstanding his client Mr. Bossu being in prison custody for 8 years, the Prosecution has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt that his client indeed committed the crime.

Vincent Bossu also known as Junior Agogo was standing trial with Daniel Asiedu also known as Sexy Dondon for conspiracy to commit robbery in the J.B. Danquah-Adu murder trial.

Daniel Asiedu known as Sexy Dondon is standing trial for the robbery and murder of the former Abuakwa North MP Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu in 2016. Yaw Dankwah, the lawyer who represented Vincent Bossu, said it was evident from the start of the case that, the Prosecution had no case against Vincent.

Mother of Vincent Bossu, who couldn’t control her emotions after the acquittal of her son, said the allegations against him caused the breakdown of her marriage and other family issues, but was happy that her son has finally been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, the court has directed Daniel Asiedu, aka sexy don don, the main accused, to open his defence at the next adjourned date which is April 22. The court noted that the Prosecution succeeded in providing enough evidence against him and has been ordered to file his witness statements and any other persons he wishes to call as witnesses.
