The Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, has assured investors of Ghana’s commitment to tackling illegal mining while promoting investment opportunities in key sectors.
Meeting with representatives from Innovative Food Stakeholders, an American investment group, on Thursday, Mr. Buah outlined Ghana’s potential in land, forestry, agriculture, and mining. He emphasized that despite challenges posed by illegal mining, the country remains a viable destination due to its stable governance and rich natural resources.
He expressed confidence that measures introduced by the government under President John Dramani Mahama would curb the galamsey menace and create an environment conducive to investment. The Minister also stressed the government’s focus on value addition across industries to drive economic growth.
Dong Theesling, leader of the American delegation, welcomed the initiative and expressed interest in partnerships, particularly in land reclamation, agriculture, and mining.
Ghana’s push for industrialization and sustainable development continues to attract global investors seeking long-term opportunities in the country.
