Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has emphasized the urgent need for reforms to address Ghana’s economic challenges. He stated that the crisis is ongoing and requires a collective effort and sacrifice.
Speaking at the National Economic Dialogue in Accra, Dr. Forson reaffirmed the government’s commitment to implementing structural changes, which include streamlining governance and reducing costs. He highlighted plans to decrease the number of ministers from 123 to 60 and to significantly cut the budget for the Office of the President as part of these efforts.
Additionally, Dr. Forson mentioned that policy recommendations from the forum will inform upcoming economic strategies, including the national budget, which is scheduled for release on March 11.
