Ghana has scheduled an international friendly match against Namibia at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Monday, January 8, 2024. This game has been organized as part of their preparation for the 34th edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations Cote D’Ivoire 2023.
The friendly Ghana and Namibia match will serve as an opportunity for both teams to strategize and formulate a game plan for the upcoming AFCON tournament. The tournament is set to kick off in Abidian on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Ghana has been placed in Group B, against Cape Verde, Egypt, and Mozambique. On the other hand, Namibia is scheduled to face Tunisia, South Africa, and Mali in Group E.
The countries have met twice in the game of football. Both teams have each won a game against each other with 0 draws recorded.
Ghana is a four-time AFCON winner in the years 1963, 1965, 1978, and 1982. Many are tipping Ghana to be the victor of today’s match against Namibia who has not been able to win the AFCON championship ever.
Ghanaians are in high spirits concerning the upcoming AFCON tournament. Ghana’s squad selection by her football coach Mr. Chris Hughton has aroused a level of positivity and this match would be the manifestation of Ghana’s readiness for the AFCON.
