Fuel prices in Ghana have surged beyond GH¢15 per litre as of today, July 16, 2024. This follows adjustments by several oil marketing companies (OMCs) in line with the commencement of the second pricing window for July.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers (COPEC) had anticipated this increase, predicting a 4 percent rise in petroleum product prices.
Leading the adjustments, Shell has increased the price of a litre of petrol from GH¢14.80 to GH¢15.10. Diesel prices have also risen, with a litre now selling at GH¢15.25, up from the previous GH¢14.92.
More OMCs are expected to follow suit with similar price hikes in the coming days.
