In a clash that promises to ignite the passions of football enthusiasts worldwide, Old Trafford becomes the battleground as Manchester United keenly extends the hand of hospitality to their eternal rivals, Liverpool FC. As the titans of English football lock horns once more, anticipation electrifies the air, setting the stage for a spectacle destined to etch its mark in the annals of sporting history.

After a rather emphatic embarrassment on Thursday night, Erik ten Hag and his men must get back on the horse for Sunday’s clash with Premier League title contenders Liverpool.

With a large group of players sidelined by injury, Ten Hag will have to mastermind a display akin to United’s FA Cup beating of the Reds last month to inject some fresh life into their campaign.

Currently, Manchester United rank 6th, while Liverpool holds 1st position. This is Round 32 of the Premier League. The current head to head record for the teams are Manchester United 16 win(s), Liverpool 12 win(s), and 9 draw(s).

The points are more crucial for the home team, however with Champions League qualification still technically up for grabs.
Klopp’s side lost the Premier League by a point in 2021-22 and with a close finish seeming certain this year, the 56-year-old feels his side may have to earn a perfect 24 points to claim a 20th top-flight title.

There are still some seriously tough fixtures to come for Liverpool but a trip to Old Trafford really shouldn’t be one of them. United’s defence has been decimated by injuries, the entire team appears to be suffering from crisis of confidence, while the manager appears utterly bereft of ideas.

Today’s fixture promises to be a thriller or a stinker.
