Vice President and flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has inaugurated a personally built ultra-modern sports complex in Nalerigu. Dr Bawumia opened the facility on Sunday January 7, 2024.
The stunning structure named Naa Sheriga Sports Complex, the first of its kind in Nalerigu and surrounding areas, was personally constructed by Dr Bawumia to benefit the youth of the community by promoting sports development and recreation. Additionally, it will serve as a venue for various social gatherings.
This facility offers an abundance of supplementary amenities that parallel those of a cutting-edge sports complex, including a top-tier artificial turf, lavatories which are also changing rooms, an exclusive seating area for VIP guests, and administrative spaces.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by high profile guests, such as the Minister for Sports and MP for Yagaba Kubore Mustapha Ussif, National Chairman of the NPP Stephen Ayesu Ntim, Deputy Minister for Transport and MP for Gushegu Hassan Tampuli, and former General Secretary of NPP Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, among others. They gathered to officially inaugurate the stadium in the presence of a large and grateful audience.
Former Black Stars players Stephen Appiah, Laryea Kingston, Asamoah Gyan, and Emmanuel Armah ‘Senegal’ graciously accepted the invitation to join local footballers for the esteemed inaugural football match at the stadium.
