The Civil and Local Government Staff Association of Ghana (CLOGSAG) has announced the suspension of its planned nationwide strike, originally set to begin on September 25, 2024.
This decision follows a response from the National Labour Commission (NLC), which invited CLOGSAG executives for discussions regarding their grievances.
In a statement signed by its Executive Secretary Isaac Ampofo, CLOGSAG indicated that it had previously notified the NLC of its intention to strike in a letter dated September 17, 2024.
However, the NLC’s proactive engagement led to an invitation for a meeting to address the concerns raised by CLOGSAG.
“In this regard, CLOGSAG is requesting all Regional Secretariat to put on hold all activities relating to the strike,” the statement read.
CLOGSAG reiterated its commitment to fair treatment and improved working conditions for civil and local government staff nationwide.
