Ghanaian Chef, Failatu Abdul-Razak’s journey to break the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking hours has come to an eventful end.
She completed about 227 hours of non-stop cooking at 10 this morning beating the current cook-a-thon holder, Mama D, a Ugandan cook.
With a jubilant crowd at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale cheering her on and counting down to the end of the journey, she has gone beyond the initial 200 hours planned to the admiration and attention of many in Ghana and beyond. As she cooked her way to stardom, her effort drew attention from celebrities, chiefs and politicians who showed up to lend their support.
Chef Faila’s 10-day culinary journey started on the 1st of January 2024 with an array of more than 150 dishes. She has demonstrated her passion for cooking and her commitment to excellence which has exceeded expectation.
An inspiration to many young Ghanaians, it is no doubt that her legacy in the culinary world has been clearly etched and will not be forgotten. Failatu now awaits confirmation from Guinness World Record.
