A significant portion of this investment, GH¢12.9 billion (GH¢12,961,284,548), has been allocated to the Free Senior High School (Free SHS) policy. This initiative has not only expanded access to secondary education but has also removed financial barriers that previously hindered many students from pursuing their educational dreams.

Recognizing the pivotal role of teachers in the education system, the government has provided 280,000 laptops to teachers, empowering them with technology to enhance their teaching methods.

President also indicated that the government acquired 350 buses, 840 pick-up vehicles, and 1,500 motorcycles to aid access.

The government has also distributed 677,470 pieces of furniture to schools, in a bid to help provide provide a more congenial learning environment for teaching and learning.

Additionally, 450,000 tablets are set to be distributed under the “1-laptop-1-student” initiative, promoting digital learning and enhancing access to educational resources.

The Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) has been instrumental in various education infrastructure projects, with 1,270 interventions designed to improve educational facilities and accessibility.

The president noted that the government’s robust investments in education reflect a forward-looking approach that prioritizes the nation’s long-term development.

These initiatives he said have significantly increased access to quality education, enhanced educational infrastructure, and empowered both students and educators across Ghana.
