The Director of Communications for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has criticized President John Mahama’s administration over what he describes as excessive spending on government machinery.
In a post on X, Ahiagbah claimed that the Office of Government Machinery has been allocated GHS2.7 billion for employee compensation alone- an amount he says is 8.3 times higher than the GHS326.9 million spent under President Akufo-Addo in 2024.
“This expenditure is 8.3 times more than what President Akufo-Addo spent on compensation in 2024. Let it sink in!” he wrote.
He also questioned why Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu was defending the budget, calling it “bloated” and “unbelievable.”
