Day three of the Tamale cook-a-thon opened with Chef Failatu in high spirits as she danced and braced herself for the day’s challenge ahead. She appears confident and is showing even more determination than before.
After accomplishing 56 hours, Chef Faila now has approximately 64 hours or more remaining to establish a new record as holder of the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.
Currently, she has prepared more than 50 local cuisines and has served hundreds of patrons, which has greatly enhanced her reputation at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale.
Dignitaries have also crowded the venue to provide moral support, including Vice President Bawumia, who contributed GH₵30,000 as a donation. This attempt, says Chef Faila will raise higher, Ghana’s Black Star and place her home, Tamale, on the world’s stage.
