This victory solidified Goldstars’ lead at the top of the standings, ending Hearts’ five-game unbeaten streak under coach Aboubakar Ouattara.
Hearts of Oak dominated the first half, controlling possession and pressing the Goldstars defense. However, goalkeeper Emmanuel Kobi thwarted their attempts, making crucial saves to keep Hearts from taking the lead. The deadlock was broken in the 69th minute, as Samuel Atta Kumi netted his third goal of the season to secure the win for Goldstars.
