Ahiagbah Condemns Leaked NDC Election Strategy as ‘Dangerously Partisan’

The Director of Communications for Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Richard Ahiagbah, has raised concerns over a leaked document purportedly outlining the opposition National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) strategy for the 2024 elections. The document, titled “Winning 2024 and Beyond,” has been widely circulated on social media.

Mr. Ahiagbah described the NDC’s plan as “disruptive, undemocratic, and dangerously partisan,” claiming it focuses more on capturing power than advancing Ghana’s development. He alleged that the strategy explains some of the tensions in Parliament, including the debate over the 2022 budget and the subsequent decision to seek an IMF bailout.

The NDC document reportedly includes tactics aimed at disrupting polling stations in NPP strongholds, using cloned observer tags and vote-padding strategies. It also suggests instigating unrest at polling stations, especially in areas where the NPP is dominant.

Mr. Ahiagbah called on Ghanaians to reject the NDC’s approach, urging voters to support the NPP’s candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, in the 2024 elections.
