Black Stars of Ghana will today play against Eagles Mali in their 2026 World Cup qualifier at the Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako.
Ghana’s qualification campaign began after a 1-0 narrow victory over Madagascar at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium courtesy a late goal from Inaki Williams.
However, as the team were hoping to make it six points out of two games, Comoros produced a shocker in Moroni by edging past Ghana in their own backyard.
Ghana currently occupies 5th position in Group I with just three points following the Central African Republic’s win over Chad earlier on Wednesday.
Speaking ahead of the game Head coach Otto Addo believes “the Malians are tough to beat but my team will have to make it count since that is what is going to give them a chance to qualify to the World Cup”
Although the permutations are in favour of Ghana, Mali has won their last two home matches against the Black Stars, scoring three goals in each game.
The match is scheduled for 19:00 GMT.
