The Founder and leader of “Buz Stop Boys,” Kwadwo Safo has revealed some challenges the team faces anytime they go out to work. Their initiative focuses on creating a cleaner and more welcoming environment for both residents and visitors.
However, in the 21st century, these committed young boys have to work manually with brooms, dustpans, shovels, and wheelbarrows whereas they could employ the use of technology to improve on their work and make it less cumbersome.
Speaking exclusively to RGG NEWS, Kwadwo Safo said “the activities of the group, be it procurement, etc were all done from their pockets”.
He further stated that “in recent times they have received support from the public which is also helping them”.
Adding that the group has 67 volunteers but due to their busy schedules, they sometimes get 20 people on the day of work.
These inspiring young men have started educating Ghanaians on the importance of environmental conservation and responsible waste disposal.
The team’s next exercise will be tomorrow 6th March at the Achimota Saint John’s stretch.
They are therefore calling on stakeholders to support the cause as they drum on the need to keep our surroundings clean at all times.
