The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced the release of provisional results for candidates who sat for the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for both School and Private Candidates.
According to WAEC, the results for school candidates will be dispatched to their respective schools through the Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Directors of Education, while private candidates can access their results on the Council’s website. School candidates also have the option to check their results online.
A total of 569,236 candidates, comprising 282,703 males and 286,533 females, participated in the school examination, which was held in 2,123 centres nationwide. Among them were 59 visually impaired candidates, 263 with hearing impairments, and 161 candidates with other test accommodation needs. However, 3,845 candidates were absent.
For private candidates, 1,390 individuals took the exam, with 57 being absent. The examination was conducted in 15 centres across the regional capitals.
