For Philip from the Department of Communication, it was important to have educational opportunities to provide students with leadership experiences.
Gloria from the Political Science Department remarked that while young people are often enthusiastic, they can be discouraged by their peers. She highlighted the need for encouragement to bolster their confidence.
Clifford from the University of Ghana School of Law stated that motivation is crucial, beyond just having passion.
He suggested that motivation can come from supportive words and practical advice.
Another student stressed the importance of educating young people about their democratic rights.
According to him, while some are informed, many are not and require proper education on the subject.
Lucile Hewlett Annan, Commission Secretary of the NCCE, advised the youth to ignore naysayers and find motivation within themselves, especially when faced with discouragement.
Professor Alidu, head of the Political Science Department encouraged young people to act, particularly when facing challenges, stating that it is crucial to make a move when the odds are against them.
The Board Chairman of CDS emphasized that youth participation extends beyond politics to include social matters.
He added that young people are becoming too dependent and stressed the importance of taking active roles in democratic participation.
