The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has commended the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for successfully conducting parliamentary primaries on Saturday, January 27, 2024. The primaries, held to select the party’s candidates for the December 2024 general election, had a significant turnout of party members and supporters, along with a peaceful and orderly voting process.

In an official statement released by the Presidency, President Akufo-Addo congratulated the winners of the primaries, describing them as a commendable mix of experienced and youthful parliamentary candidates. He also praised the losers for gracefully accepting the results and pledging their support to the winners.

The President urged all party members to unite and collaborate towards ensuring a resounding victory for the NPP in the 2024 elections.

President Akufo-Addo also expressed gratitude to the national, regional, constituency, electoral area, and polling station executives of the party, as well as the Electoral Commission, security services, and media, for their roles in ensuring a smooth and credible exercise.

He said the NPP has once again demonstrated its commitment to democracy and internal party cohesion, which are crucial for national development and progress.

Furthermore, the President appealed to the Ghanaian electorate to renew the NPP’s mandate and grant the party a majority in Parliament, enabling his government to continue implementing its transformative agenda for the country. He asserted that the NPP has delivered on its promises and proven to be a reliable and trustworthy partner for the people of Ghana, guaranteeing the nation’s stability, prosperity, and peace.
