Organised Labour has declared a nationwide strike, effective Thursday, October 10, 2024, demanding an outright ban on all forms of small-scale mining, particularly illegal mining, known as galamsey.
In a statement, Organised Labour expressed disappointment over the government’s failure to meet its demands after the expiration of its deadline, which sought to address the issue of illegal mining.
The group is calling on all workers to stay home until the government takes decisive action against galamsey.
