The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has responded to the Electoral Commission’s (EC) request regarding party agents for the printing of notices of poll and ballot papers. In a letter signed by General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, the NDC acknowledged receipt of the EC’s communication, expressing their readiness to provide the necessary information in due time.
While the party had no reservations about printing the notice of poll ahead of the final voters’ register, it requested that the EC provide constituency-specific statistics before proceeding with the printing of ballot papers.
The NDC emphasized the importance of this data to avoid potential issues with either a shortage or surplus of ballot papers during the December 2024 elections.
The party also reiterated a previous request made in July 2024 for Electoral Code books, which it considers crucial for ensuring accuracy in the electoral process.
Additionally, the NDC encouraged the EC to offer more timely notice to political parties on important national issues.
