John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has condemned the two-week remand of Democracy Hub protesters, calling it excessive and a violation of their rights.
In a post on X, Mahama stressed the need to balance maintaining law and order with protecting citizens’ freedom.
He emphasized that Ghanaian youth have the right to protest, especially on critical issues like environmental destruction through illegal mining.
Mr. Mahama called on the authorities to request a review of the remand decision and grant the protesters bail immediately.
