John Mahama Engages Media in Northern Region, Outlines Vision for Development in Upper East

Former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama as part of his visit to the Northern region has held another media engagement session with journalists, ready for a candid exchange on a range of issues affecting the Upper East Region.

This wasn’t just another media encounter; it was a chance to connect with the people, understand their concerns, and share his vision for a brighter future for the region.

John Mahama’s visit to the Upper East Region was part of his ongoing interactions with Ghanaians across the country, listening to their concerns and outlining his plans for a better Ghana.

His focus on the region, often labelled as one of the most underdeveloped in Ghana, points at his commitment to addressing the needs of often overlooked communities.

The journalists, representing a spectrum of media outlets, eagerly engaged Mr Mahama on a range of issues, from the challenges of agriculture and infrastructure to the need for improved healthcare and education.

Mr Mahama, known for his thoughtful and articulate responses, addressed their questions with a mix of empathy and pragmatism.

He spoke about the importance of investing in agriculture, the backbone of the Upper East Region’s economy, highlighting the need for modernizing farming practices, improving irrigation systems, and ensuring access to markets.

He further acknowledged the challenges facing the region’s infrastructure, particularly the lack of adequate roads and electricity, highlighting the need for targeted investments to improve connectivity and attract businesses.

John Mahama emphasized the importance of building schools, hospitals, and other essential infrastructure to improve the quality of life for residents.

Mr Mahama also addressed the issue of healthcare, recognizing the significant challenges faced by the region’s healthcare system. He stressed the importance of investing in primary healthcare, training more healthcare professionals, and ensuring access to quality medical care for all.

He spoke about the need for improved educational opportunities, stressing on the importance of investing in schools, training teachers, and ensuring quality education for all children in the region. He highlighted the need to empower young people through education and skills training, equipping them to contribute to the region’s economic growth.

John Mahama’s engagement is a testament to his commitment to connecting with Ghanaians, listening to their concerns, and seeking solutions to their challenges, providing a much-needed platform for dialogue and shared understanding.
