Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Member of Parliament for Manhyia South and Energy Minister, has been officially confirmed as the running mate for the New Patriotic Party for election 2024.
The announcement was made at a meeting of the Party’s National Council with the Presidential candidate to finalize the decision.
At the briefing, the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, disclosed that after thorough deliberations, the National Council unanimously endorsed the nomination of Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh as the 2024 running mate, in accordance with Article 13.3 of the Party’s Constitution.
He emphasized that this brings finality to the party’s presidential ticket for the 2024 national exercise, paving the way for comprehensive engagement with Ghanaian voters on their transformative agenda.
He highlighted NAPO’s leadership and proven record of accomplishments, noting his alignment with Vice President Bawumia’s vision for innovative solutions that address contemporary challenges.
Moreover, JFK expressed confidence in the synergy between Dr Bawumia and NAPO, citing their collective track record and transformative campaign message which will lead to victory for the NPP in the December elections.
“He has a great working relationship with our candidate. This will help the NPP to ensure a resounding third consecutive electoral victory in 2024,” he added.
