The Ghana Medical Association (GMA) has stated that it will not be declaring any plans for industrial action, urging its members to continue providing uninterrupted healthcare services.
In a statement, the GMA reaffirmed its solidarity with Organized Labour in the ongoing campaign against illegal mining, known as galamsey, which has raised serious public health and environmental concerns.
The association emphasized the importance of maintaining full service to the public during this period. The National Executive Council (NEC) of the GMA has indicated that it will provide further updates as needed, ensuring that both members and the wider public are informed about any developments regarding the galamsey issue.
