In a recent engagement with residents of Sikaman and nearby communities, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential running mate, emphasized the economic progress experienced under the party’s policies.
He illustrated this point with a striking comparison of cocoa and cement prices, revealing that while a bag of cocoa could buy 13 bags of cement in 2016, it now purchases 34 bags.
Dr. Prempeh’s remarks resonated with constituents, who he believes will overwhelmingly support Dr. Bawumia and the NPP in the upcoming December elections. “The people here have seen the direct impact of our policies, and they will vote for us to ensure further improvements in their lives,” he stated.
During his address, Dr. Prempeh also outlined the NPP’s commitment to responsible mining practices, aimed at ensuring that the residents benefit directly from the mineral resources in their area. He stressed the importance of balancing economic growth with environmental sustainability, aligning with the party’s broader strategy to regulate and promote environmentally sustainable small-scale mining across the country.
Dr. Prempeh expressed confidence in the Akrofuom community’s long-standing loyalty to the NPP, predicting a resounding victory for Dr. Bawumia and the re-election of Alex Blankson as the parliamentary candidate on the NPP ticket.
