The Electoral Commission (EC) has engaged the diplomatic community, providing updates on its preparations for the December 2024 elections.
Key topics discussed included the revised Provisional Voters Register, the handling of electoral grievances, and timelines for printing the Notice of Poll, ballot papers, and the voters register. The online exhibition of the voters register was also a focus.
EC Chairperson, Mrs. Jean Mensa, reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to delivering credible, free, and fair elections, expressing confidence that the results would be widely accepted.
In a related development, the EC received a delegation from the Commonwealth Pre-Election Assessment Team on October 10th. The team, led by Ms. Lindiwe Maleleka, Political Advisor from the Electoral Support Section of the Governance and Peace Directorate, visited to assess Ghana’s election readiness.
