The Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has advised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the current Energy Minister and newly endorsed running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to ensure that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, who selected him for the role, does not regret his decision.
At a ceremonial unveiling at the Manhyia Palace, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II emphasized the importance of humility in public service, advising Dr. Opoku Prempeh to serve with dedication and modesty. “I have advised my son already. All he has to do is serve with all humility,” the Asantehene stated.
Addressing the rumours of arrogance surrounding Dr. Opoku Prempeh, Otumfuo expressed his disbelief in such claims but cautioned him to avoid actions that might validate them.
