Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, President of the National House of Chiefs, has called on Ghana’s chiefs to champion peace as the nation heads toward the December 7 elections.
With just over a month until Ghanaians vote for the next president and parliamentary representatives, he urged chiefs to uphold the honor of the chieftaincy institution by acting responsibly during this crucial period.
He emphasized the role of chiefs as peace ambassadors and stressed the importance of unity in ensuring a smooth, peaceful election.
“As we approach the elections, let us continue to advocate for fair, peaceful, and transparent elections,” Ogyeahoho stated.
Reflecting on the progress of the chieftaincy institution, he noted its growing public respect and visibility. “Despite challenges, the chieftaincy institution’s brand value has strengthened, and we must continue working to uphold our image.”
He urged chiefs to conduct themselves in ways that uplift and protect the institution’s reputation.
