It is curtains for Chef Failatu Abdul-Razak, also known as Chef Faila, who has announced on her Instagram page that her attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the “Longest Cooking Marathon (Individual)” had fallen short.
The cooking marathon, which took place from January 1st to January 10th at the Modern City Hotel in Tamale, involved Chef Faila spending 227 consecutive hours in the kitchen. During this time, she displayed her culinary ability by preparing a diverse selection of dishes, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the country.
However, in a statement issued by the Guinness World Records (GWR) Records Management Team, it was revealed that the attempt had not met all the stringent criteria set forth by the organization. Specifically, violating the rest break rules resulted in an unsuccessful outcome.
Despite this setback, Chef Faila expressed gratitude for the steadfast support she received from her headline sponsors and numerous esteemed partners. She acknowledged their instrumental role throughout the journey.
Furthermore, Chef Faila emphasized her continued commitment to pushing boundaries in the culinary world. She stated, “While this attempt did not lead to a world record, it has been an invaluable experience. I am proud of the dedication and hard work exhibited, and I am determined to continue this pursuit.”
The GWR Records Management Team acknowledged Chef Faila’s efforts and encouraged her to consider future record proposals. They stated, “We commend you for your tremendous efforts with this record attempt. We hope you can still be very proud of what you have achieved.”
